About Me
Hi I'm Suki, thanks for connecting. I have been a therapist for the past 6 years in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver and have worked in the mental health field for 11 years.
Empowering you to embrace your unique journey is my goal. I meet you where you are, honour your individuality and help you navigate your path forward. Whether you are seeking support for anxiety, depression, career exploration, relationship issues, or simply a desire for personal growth, our sessions will be tailored to your specific needs. Let's create a therapeutic non-judgmental space where authenticity thrives. Trust, compassion, honesty & some humor is what I hope to foster in our space together.
I have worked with a multitude of individuals from many walks of life, and have been grateful to walk along side them through their counselling journey. A motto I embrace is that I am a human first, therapist second. When I am not working, I can be found with my dog Hershey, attending spin classes, travelling, and watching reality TV.
How I Can Help:
Creating a safe & relaxed place for curiosity and exploration. Let’s face it, starting therapy can be overwhelming. I aim to create a space that is warm and inviting, and has a bit of laughter.
Building a strong relationship. This is key in having trust, and not feeling judged, when discussing parts of ourselves we may have never explored.
Providing tangible tools to practice outside of session. I want to ensure holistic care when you are not in session, this involves some informal practice outside our 50 minute sessions together.
Trauma informed care and education. The lens I view therapy from is rooted in information, permission, and consent. I ask for guidance and permission from you through our journey and provide education & rational as to why we are doing what we are doing.
Personability and transparency. I value transparency and this starts with myself, I do pull from my own experiences and life story to create human to human connection. If I’m not familiar with something, I value learning along side you.
I am trained in ACT, CBT, Brainspotting, EMDR, and trauma-informed practices. Also, I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT), helping partners strengthen their bonds, overcome challenges, and reconnect.
Experience the difference
In my unique style of counseling, it’s all about being yourself. This safe space encourages self-exploration, acceptance of individuality, and genuine personal development. I believe in the power of honesty, resiliency & transparency.
