About Us
Some people come to us having tried therapy before. Others are showing up for the first time, unsure of what to expect. What they share is this. Somewhere along the way, they stopped feeling like themselves.
At Serenity Counselling, we believe people have an incredible capacity to grow, find their own voice, and own their life. That belief shapes everything about how we work. We laugh, we sit in the hard stuff, and we do not rush you through it. A lot of the women we work with are carrying more than they let on. If you are a first generation or BIPOC woman you might also know the pressure of family expectations, being compared to siblings or cousins who got better grades, won more awards, or chose the safer path.
With over 20 years of combined clinical experience, we have sat with a lot of different stories. We know healing is not a straight line, and we are not going to pretend it is.
You already have more than you think. We help you stop second-guessing it.
Why Work with Serenity Counselling
01. Human
We show up as real people & not just professionals taking notes. A place to exist without judgement, because that's what actually helps.
02. Encouraging
We're with you on the messy days, not just the breakthroughs. Healing isn't a straight line and we're not going to pretend it is.
03. Authentic
We do the kind of deep work that gets into the roots, not just the symptoms. More than a safe space to talk, this is where real change happens.

-
There is no set timeline for how long you attend therapy. Most clients start to notice a shift somewhere between 6 and 12 sessions. Some people continue beyond that, others do not. It depends on what you are working through and what feels right for you.
-
How often you attend therapy is something we figure out together. Therapy works best when it is regular and consistent, so your mind, body, and heart know they have a place to land. Most people start with weekly or biweekly sessions, then naturally shift to longer stretches between sessions as they start to feel more regulated.
