EMDR & Brainspotting Therapy in Port Coquitlam
Deeper than talk therapy. Specialized EMDR services to rewire survival mode, silence anxiety, quiet shame, and reclaim the joy buried beneath. This isn’t just healing—it’s reclaiming your life. Getting to the root to help you be a more authentic you.
Are you tired of feeling stuck between who you’re expected to be and who you truly are?
You did everything right: excelled in school, built a career, and honored your family’s sacrifices. After years of following a path laid out for you, you might feel a quiet ache beneath the surface. The pressure of immigrant family expectations and perfectionism can leave you anxious, disconnected, or plagued by the sense that something important is missing. It’s not your fault. Many first-generation BIPOC women carry hidden stress, cultural guilt, and an exhausting drive even while achieving remarkable success.
In therapy, you can begin to reclaim your story. We understand the unique journey of first-generation women who have given so much to others. We help you:
Release shame and guilt: Let go of the “shoulds” rooted in immigrant family expectations.
Break free from perfectionism: Find balance beyond the hustle to please everyone.
Set healthy boundaries: Learn to honor your own needs without fear or guilt.
Reconnect mind and body: Use EMDR, Brainspotting, and somatic therapy to release trauma held in your body.
Rediscover your authentic self: Reclaim the passions and goals that reflect you, not just what others expect.
Your heritage is a strength, not a burden. Through warm, body-based trauma therapy and emotional healing, you can honor both your culture and your personal freedom. You don’t have to choose between them.
Why EMDR?
EMDR isn’t just for trauma—it’s a transformative tool for dismantling the beliefs holding you back (“I have to be perfect,” “My needs don’t matter”). By addressing the root of these patterns, we’ll help you shed emotional burdens and step into confidence, clarity, and self-trust.
You don’t have to choose between your culture and your freedom. Let’s navigate this journey together—with compassion, expertise, and deep respect for your story.

Brainspotting Therapy
A Form Of Individual Therapy To Help Process Emotional And Physical Trauma
What is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting is a therapeutic technique that helps individuals access and process deep-seated emotional and traumatic experiences. By guiding eye movements to specific "brainspots" related to distress, the therapy aims to unlock and release unresolved trauma stored in the brain. During a Brainspotting session, I help you explore and identify the precise areas in your visual field that connect with your emotional experiences. By focusing attention on these spots, you can access and process underlying emotions and memories more effectively.
What is EMDR?
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a form of therapy that helps those experiencing symptoms of emotional distress relating to life traumas. This highly researched intervention helps those who feel “stuck” in their trauma by creating distance from these events and minimizing symptoms. EMDR uses detailed protocols and guided eye movement to help remove mental blocks that limit us from healing. This powerful eight-part therapy can help activate natural healing and be adapted to your needs.
